Drawing Room, Chelsea

The drawing room of this modern developer's town house in Chelsea was ill proportioned with awkwardly placed protuberances and poor classical details.

These faults were corrected by introducing shallow arches to divide the room into coherent spaces and introducing new woodwork and plaster ornaments after the manner of Sir John Soane. The decorative scheme was complemented by Regency style drapes.
