Rosehill House, Lambourn, Berkshire
This house was built for a well known Lambourn trainer on a site adjacent to his yard. It is constructed in fine handmade brickwork with Bath stone dressings under a slate roof on a compact plan containing four bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a dressing room on the first floor and three reception rooms, a family room, kitchen and nursery on the ground floor.
The staircase hall is generously top lit from an elegant oval lantern.
Though intended specifically for this site using materials native to the locality, this design would be equally at home in many parts of the country. It embodies most of the qualities we think important and was built on a limited site to a fixed budget.
